Early Years Support Worker

IMH Recruitment are seeking an experienced and compassionate Early Years Home Visiting Practitioner to join our client’s specialist Portage service in Barnsley. This is a rewarding role supporting children aged 0–5 (predominantly 0–3) and their families within their home environment.

Duties:

• Early Years Support: Provide expert guidance with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and developmental milestones for children aged 0–5.
• Home Visiting: Work independently in family homes as part of the Portage service, supporting children with developmental delays, health issues, or additional needs.
• Family-Led Practice: Build positive relationships with parents and carers, offering non-directive, family-focused support. Work collaboratively to identify concerns and develop tailored developmental goals.
• Child Development Assessment: Assess developmental stages and plan next-step activities. Confidently engage children in play-based learning and model effective strategies for parents.
• Hands-On Work: Support children with a range of physical, communication, and health needs. Create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment during home visits.
• Transition Support: Assist children and families through key developmental or care transitions.

Requirements for the role:

• Relevant Early Years qualification.
• Must drive and have access to own vehicle for home visits.
• Experience working with children aged 0-5 in a similar environment.
• Clean Enhanced DBS required.

Hours & Pay:

• Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, typically between 8am–5pm, depending on family needs).
• 18.35 – £19.81 per hour.
• Weekly pay whilst through the agency!
• Temporary, 12-week assignment.
